Simply put...When we complain it's because we don't feel good. We either don't feel good now, didn't feel good then or we aren't expecting to feel good later.
Why don't we feel good? Because the feelings "we experience" most the time don't feel good. Why don't our feelings feel good? Because most of our feelings are based on negative assumptions instead of the truth.
Then why do we believe them, trust them and act on them? Great question.
Amazing Fact: Most of your feelings are based on assumptions.
Hurt assumes someone meant to cause you pain.
Anger assumes the hurt is right.
Fear assumes that the worst will happen.
Impatience assumes the timing of the moment isn't perfect.
Anxiety assumes you won't be able to handle the future it.
Hopelessness assumes things aren't going to get better.
Insecurity assumes things only fall apart when they also fall together.
Inadequacy assumes you're already supposed to be perfect.
The amount of times our feelings reflect the truth or the true meaning of what is happening is very rare.
No wonder we are complaining. To end the complaints we have to start thinking and feeling the truth instead of our assumptions.
Here's a curious and amazing fact: Most the time you don't have enough information to know how to feel.
What if you just stayed happy while you try to find out what you need to know, to know how to feel?
Is it possible we need to stop believing what we think? It is.
Imagine this; If your feelings are only based on the truth; the truth of the present, past and the truth of the future, you will truly feel better overall about absolutely everything! With practice we can stray grounded in the truth. And of course the truth that will set you free.
And a reminder: Please take some time to rest, breath and reflect as a daily practice.
